When One Yes Led to Belonging – An Anonymous Story
In a very short span of time, my life changed in significant and unexpected ways. I experienced profound loss, the end of a long-standing relationship, and a major life transition that left me feeling alone and unsure of what came next.
Although I had been part of a church community for years and knew many people, I realized I didn’t have deep, meaningful connections. I began to wonder whether there was truly a place for me.
After praying for guidance, I felt prompted to step forward rather than pull away.
I reached out to a church leader and shared my story and was unexpectedly invited to help lead a small group. Saying yes to that invitation became one of the greatest blessings of my life. God brought together an incredible group of people who have become true friends. We study Scripture together, pray together, celebrate one another’s joys, and walk side by side through difficult seasons.
Through this experience, I’ve come to understand that God created us for community, because He knows that is where we grow and thrive. You don’t have to do life alone. Find your group. Find your people.
