I began attending Eastview as a college student and was immediately drawn to the genuinely BIG hearts of the people I met. It was a far cry from the selfish nature of the college students I was surrounded by on a daily basis. The young adults, pastors, and elders at Eastview were on fire for Jesus in a way I had not previously experienced. The friendships built here were REAL…not stuffed in a box and only opened on Sundays. Plus, there was definitely a cool passion for worship music! (My kind of people!)

Over the years my connections became more than friends who knew my heart, understood grace, gave mercy, and loved beyond measure…they became my family…my brothers and sisters in Christ. It was here that I tripped over a Bible and met my future husband. Bill and I have been married for 25 years. We have four almost-grown children, and are “house mom and dad” to one more. When I’m not loving on my hubby, baking cookies for a house full of teenage boys, or working on some sort of creative project, I enjoy live acoustic music, four-part harmonies, playing in the kitchen, reading, walking, biking, camping, photography, or just about anything in the great outdoors with good friends and belly-aching laughter.

As our kids launch into their adult lives, I am finding a new purpose in this season of life on earth. Starting in the fall of 2015, I began using my skills and talents with the Creative Arts team as well as care for an elderly family member.  I am indeed challenged to grow, embrace change, and live more fully as a child of God. I am here. Check. I am willing. Check. And, I am able. Check! And, thanking God for each new day! CHECK!!!

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember…"It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35
