Our Lead Pastor search went live September 15, 2023. We’re prayerfully excited and expectant for what God has in store for Eastview! God has been preparing and refining Eastview in this season and we trust God has been faithfully doing the same heart work in the life of our next Lead Pastor. While we cannot do justice to succinctly describing all that we are praying for in our next Lead Pastor, the following attributes are critical:
- Visionary Leader – Someone who brings vision and direction that inspires the church to reach the lost and transform the community. Someone who leads the staff in a healthy culture. Someone who can see the future and lead patiently through change.
- A Collaborative and Dynamic Preacher - An excellent communicator of the Word of God with a passion for developing and leading a larger teaching team that dives deep into God’s word.
- Relational Collaborator – A person who understands how to steward decision-making authority while listening to, involving and empowering others.
- Humble - A person that is present, others minded, and has a teachable spirit. A person who welcomes feedback from others and coaching from the Elder team.
With the Lead Pastor search going live, our next step was to form our Lead Pastor “Search Team”. This team will be responsible for reviewing the initial list of candidates that Slingshot provides Eastview. They will determine which candidates will proceed to the first phase of virtual interviews that will be conducted by the Search Team. After conducting initial interviews, the Search Team will provide the Elders with the top candidate(s) for Elder consideration. This second phase will be led by the Elders and include additional interviews, on-site meetings, etc. We will provide more information as to what this phase entails as we get closer to that season.
The Search Team is comprised of seven individuals. The team includes two Elders, two Executive staff, two additional staff members representing different ministries and responsibilities, and one additional congregational member. This diverse team has 5 males, two females, and provides diversity and perspective across generations, gender, race, organizational roles, secular executive leadership, and congregational perspective. We anticipate reviewing an initial group of candidates in the next couple of months.
