This Changes Everything

As winter turns towards Easter, we will spend nine weeks examining the weekend that changed the world. From Thursday evening to Sunday morning, Jesus instituted communion, was betrayed, arrested, denied, tried, condemned, mocked, crucified, buried, and resurrected. As we preach through Mark’s gospel account, we will find ourselves as distant participants in each of these final scenes of Jesus’ life. We will also be reminded how Jesus’ grace cuts through every follower’s failure and fear to bring resurrection into our lives. This singular event (the resurrection of Jesus) overpowers our sin, our debt, our doubts, our fears, and our death to give us life, and give it to the full. Parallel passages (Matthew 26:17-28:15; Luke 22:7-24:12; and John 13:1-20:10) will be used to give additional information to each teaching.
