All of the previously scheduled elder circles have been completed, and we are grateful for the opportunity to meet with the staff for candid, open discussions. As we have said before, we will continue to participate in these sessions as often as necessary.

We continue to act on the recommendations from the investigative report. One key area for improvement is Eastview’s HR department. A hiring search has begun for an experienced professional candidate to lead HR, and the executive team is researching outside HR agencies to act as a hotline for staff to raise concerns if needed.

Previously we have stated our intent to conduct a lengthy study of biblical manhood and womanhood and their relevance to leadership roles within the church. The elders are forming a committee (of men and women) to begin that process which we expect to take several months.

Last Sunday’s elder/advisory team retreat was valuable and productive for making progress on important decisions for Eastview. For the days following, we committed to pray over those decisions, and we fasted Wednesday and will fast again this Wednesday. For any who are able, and for whom it would be safe to do so, we invite the ECC family to pray and fast with us.
