This update is brief compared to the previous two weeks’, but we want to highlight two important events In the life of our church. First, as we noted last Friday, our Lead Pastor search firm, Slingshot Group, will be in town for in-person meetings Sunday and Monday with the elders and staff to continue the initial phase of the search process. This is a big milestone, and we are eager to engage in this process.

Second, this Sunday is Vision Sunday at Eastview, and we are very excited to celebrate the incredible ministry that happens through our church family living out the vision and mission of Christ’s church. At times we have been asked, “Where are we going? What does the future hold for us as a church?” Clearly stated, Eastview’s vision and mission remains unchanged. We will love God—for He has redeemed us and sustains us—and we will love people by being the hands and feet of Jesus in order to know Him and to make Him known.

Vision Sunday is a special day, so we wait with excited anticipation for Christ’s church to move with reinvigorated confidence and purpose. But Vision Sunday is also like any other Sunday. We will preach the Word of God; we will worship Him in spirit and in truth; and we will celebrate Christ’s resurrection because through Him, every man, woman, and child has the hope of salvation.
